Deciding to write a blog again was difficult. I am not just out of high school anymore. I'm going to university and living on my own. I turned over and over in my mind the angles I could write from during this new stage in my life. So much has changed in a short time.
Maybe it's best to write about the One who hasn't changed a bit.
The theme verse for this blog is Hebrews 12:1. It talks about running a race, the race. That is a foreign image for me because I have spent my entire life in a wheelchair. I haven't run any natural races. However, God has never failed to test my endurance and show me the eternal race I must run in order that He may increase my strength.
Verse 2 of this chapter reads " looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (NKJV)
Jesus came to endure the greatest of trials to finish the work that needed to be done for us to know the Father. That is why we can sit and enjoy the presence of God without the hindrance of sin. When Jesus calls us to a task, it is then that we are to run and do it, focused on Him and walking in the strength He freely gives!
As I move forward in God's promise and purpose for my life, I will sit and run. How about you?
